When I were a lad, I studied graphic design at Suffolk College. These were wonderful and informative years, where I started to hone my craft under the guidance of many great tutors, including Russell Walker and Graham Scott. During my two year HND Design Communications course, the Students’ Union ran a competition to design a new corporate identity for them, that was open to the students of a few departments, including ours.
After a few ideas, and a desire to draw faces, my entry was this simple and happy logo, which was designed to portray two people uniting as one. Fairly obvious really. The Student Union liked it, and used as their identity for many years.
The competition prize was £25, but I was more interested in the fame.
